People continually seek newer, and better standards of living. More and more, they are no longer being satisfied by the bare minimum of having a bed and roof over the heads. Giving residents, especially those of the burgeoning youth, a special place to stay for their studies or their transition into work life, is important. They need to be given homes, not housing, and iLive promotes this idea through their philosophy emphasising community and provides an example for others to follow.

iLive means home, togetherness, and the Brazilian joy of life. iLive welcomes all people as friends, and accepts them exactly as they are. At iLive residences, the staff sees people for themselves and treats them with appreciation  - and when you do this, guests tend to reciprocate this feeling.

A Friend of the Cariocas

Many years ago, on his first trip to Brazil, our CEO Amos Engelhardt experienced how wonderful it is to be welcomed as a friend by the Cariocas, the inhabitants of Rio de Janeiro, from the very first moment. The warmth of the locals made him feel at home from the very first moment, even though he was actually a stranger in Brazil - and so Brazil became his heart's home.

We want to pass on this feeling of welcome and home to our guests because we know how it can feel to arrive alone in a new place. That's why we at i Live have made it our goal to offer people not only living space but a temporary residence where they can feel at home.

We asked ourselves: What constitutes a sense of home? We are certain that the most important values here are trust and community - both of which people find at iLive. In this, we are guided by our Brazilian model, because the attitude to life of the inhabitants of Rio de Janeiro is based on cordiality and togetherness. Guests and residents are treated warmly, helped when they need support, and always have an open ear for their wishes and problems. That is why it is crucial to have contact persons on site for our guests; people whom they can turn to personally. It is important to emphasise crew members to have a smile on their faces so that guests can feel comfortable and return those smiles in return.

Precisely because the well-being of our residents and guests is a significant priority to us, we also repeatedly seek their feedback. Our most recent survey showed that for most of our residents, friends are the most important people in their living environment. We also recognised that young people in particular who move to a new city for studies or a job feel lonely.

It's All About Community

We make it easy for our residents to quickly connect and make new friends if they have moved to a new place on their own. Not only do they always have a personal contact person with us, but they also find numerous opportunities for joint activities. Through the social component, we improve the overall quality of life for our guests. The Community Concept is rounded off by our community app, which residents of a property can use to network.

Also inspired by Brazil is the spatial layout of our iLive residences and Rioca Aparthotels: we offer so-called condomínios, which are areas in the houses where people can spend time together. In this way, we create a typical Brazilian living situation for our residents. For example, we offer learning lounges, large common areas, fitness rooms, event kitchens and roof terraces - and of course, cool events and parties that are not to be missed out on! T

his allows our guests to spend time together and there is something for everyone. It's great to see people enthusiastically using the condomínios and making new friends. We have created places where people can have privacy in their apartments, but at the same time, they can meet and network with new friends right outside their door anytime, so they never have to be lonely. We have seen firsthand how well the Community Concept works when implemented.

i Live is more than living, it's a way of life - a home of the heart. Because of the success of the Community Concept, created by iLive, we believe it serves as a good example for other developers to follow  - well-being and community are important to make residents happy.
