C40 are a group of city leaders focused innovative solutions for creating greener, sustainable cities. Our C40 leader Costanza De Stefani works closely with students and young people to help shape to regenerate and reimage cities that are more sustainable. She will be in conversation with a leading operator in Iberia, on the topic of how they encourage residents in their building to be more environmentally conscious and how they have incorporated future proof designs across their European portfolio.

Although Iberia offers an attractive lifestyle and cuisine, there are pressing concerns around rising rent prices and growing lack of quality accommodation making it difficult for international and domestic students alike. With this mind, we have seen a giant appetite to develop within key cities.  

In our panel discussion, we explore:

1. How do cities welcome PBSA developments and has there been any notable challenges? In terms of development, which markets perform well and which don’t?  

2. Are operators finding any pressures around rising rent? Is the PBSA offering being challenged or sought after by students?  

3. Any notable shifts and change in student cohort? And how is that impacting demand?  

4. What are the key focus points when operating assets? Are there interesting emerging trends you are noticing?

On the 13th of July, attendees of Student Living in Iberia will be able to explore Livensa Living's Lisbon Cicade student accommodation.Livensa Living Lisboa Cidade student accommodation is right next to the University of Lisbon, ISCTE - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, NOVA FCSH, UCP and others. It is very close to shops and leisure facilities, and well-located within easy reach of all of Lisbon’s places of interest. Its impressive eye-catching façade features work by Atelier Contencioso, which used 105 aluminium sheets to represent the leaves and petals of the Chinese Ginkgo biloba tree.

There are 589 rooms, of which 71 are twin bedded, with fully equipped kitchens, study areas and private bathrooms. The double rooms have a kitchenette. Modern yet cosy, the residence also offers a shared large kitchen that can be booked for specific private events. Colourful curvaceous furniture and sofas cleverly divide the large communal open-plan spaces that have an industrial feel, and which are lit by large red and black designer lamps.
